- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
HITC understands that Brentford are continuing talks with Club Brugge over Antonio Nusa – after issues arose with his medical on Monday.
Tottenham Hotspur looked set on winning the race for Antonio Nusa, the Norwegian winger, but Thomas Frank’s Brentford stole a march on their London rivals and looked to have won the race for the promising winger from Club Brugge.
However, it seems the Bees encountered a problem with the deal for the 18-year-old with the club’s medical staff reporting some concerns which was enough for Brentford to re-open talks with the club about the overall deal.
As previously reported by HITC, Spurs believed they were firmly in the driving seat for the deal with the Norwegian set to return to the Belgian giants on loan.

Spurs’ stance on reentering talks
HITC Football confirmed two days ago that Brentford had agreed a deal worth £25m in principal with add-ons but it seems there are doubts about whether this move can happen.
Despite there being a hitch in the medical, talks remain on, but Nusa has now returned to Belgium as the two clubs look to hammer out the terms of the deal.
Tottenham had previously held talks with Nusa but it is unclear if Ange Postecoglou’s side might rekindle their interest in the Norwegian late on in this window.
Busy end to the window for Brentford and Spurs
With just two days remaining before the January transfer window slams shut, it looks set to be a busy final 48 hours for both Spurs and Brentford.
Postecoglou’s side have already brought in Timo Werner on loan from RB Leipzig and Radu Dragusin on a permanent deal, which has been a rarity in the Premier League this month.
Brentford have made three first-team signings so far this month with goalkeeper Hakon Valdimarsson from Elfsborg, Turkish midfielder Yunus Emre Konak from Sivasspor and left-back Sergio Reguilón from Tottenham Hotspur.
The London side will be hoping their third of the window is the exciting winger Nusa.
