It’s remarkable to think that this time last season, the Tottenham fans were piling in on their chairman, Daniel Levy.

Everything was going wrong for Tottenham and everything was about to go wrong during the second half of the campaign.

From Fabio Paratici’s ban, Antonio Conte’s rant and that woeful away defeat and performance at Newcastle United.

Those chants of ‘we want Levy out’ were growing louder and louder by the Spurs fans, but how would Daniel Levy be viewed if he left Tottenham tomorrow?

That was a question asked by Graeme Souness and he feels he would be deemed a ‘good operator by accountants and boardrooms in London’, as he told talkSPORT.

But the Liverpool legend sarcastically added by saying, ‘oh, we have a great chairman because we haven’t fallen foul of financial fair play.’

Whilst former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan, who is good friends with the marmite-like Tottenham figure, thinks the reaction would be a ‘mixed mag’.

Nonetheless, Graeme Souness suggested that the average Spurs supporter probably wouldn’t view Daniel Levy’s two-decade of boardroom dominance and decision-making as a positive.

“If Daniel Levy is to go tomorrow,” said Souness. “He would be judged as a good operator by accountants and boardrooms in London.

“But, by your average Spurs supporter, how would he be viewed?”

Simon Jordan responded by saying: “A mixed bag. At the moment, because of Ange Postecoglou, he would be given a bit of latitude.”

Souness then added sarcastically: “Oh, we have a great chairman because we haven’t fallen foul of financial fair play.”

Ange Postecoglou has changed the mood

Last season was a morale-sapper for the Spurs fans and it went to a new low when Harry Kane left in the summer.

Many thought that it would open the door for Spurs fans to slide down the table, including Paul Merson who has since changed his mind.

But the reason why there is so much promise, excitement and positive vibes at Hotspur Way today is because of their manager, Ange Postecoglou.

From his style of play to how he manages the players, it has been uplifting for the whole club because many of the fans now believe they are heading down a hopeful road.
