It seems as though many big-name managers will be leaving their posts at the end of the season, but could Mikel Arteta be heading out of the Arsenal exit door?
Jurgen Klopp will certainly leave Liverpool and Xavi Hernandez will part ways with Barcelona amid their struggles on and off the pitch.
That has resulted in some questioning, who will be the next Barcelona manager? Perhaps Mikel Arteta will head back home to where it all started?!
Sources have told HITC Football that those at the Nou Camp ‘appreciate’ the former midfielder, as Arsenal attempt to tie him down to a new contract.
Former Spain and Barcelona forward Luis Garcia was asked why Mikel Arteta would leave Arsenal for the Barca gig and he made it clear that ‘any manager in the world’ would want to take that role, as he told ESPN.
Well, unless a new contract is signed by the man in Arsenal’s dugout, then talk of him leaving at the end of the campaign will only going to circle the footballing world.
But Luis Garcia is in no doubt that if the door knocked, then it will be answered, even if the current Barca job seems to be a ‘dangerous position’.
Mikel Arteta at Barcelona
On why Arteta would want to manage Barcelona: “I know you think that managing Barcelona could be a dangerous position or it’s not a good way,” said Garcia.
“But I can tell you that any manager in the world, or most managers in the world, if there is a ring from Barcelona, then you are going to get it. The potential work you can do in the future. I am not saying right now you are very happy because of what you have got.
“I just think you can do so much good for the future with this team. You are talking about one of the biggest clubs in the world. I think any manager would be happy to get that job.”

Mikel Arteta and the Premier League title
There is no doubt that Arteta has changed the fortunes around at Arsenal. They were in a world of mess when he first joined and they continued to slide down years later.
But, eventually, he picked them up, cleared the mess, brought in a clear style of play and now they are challenging near the top.
However, if Arsenal don’t win the Premier League title this season. Will some Arsenal fans become restless with their manager?
Yes, he has the FA Cup to his name, but he has also spent a lot of money and fans think it’s high time he started to deliver now.
