Marcus Rashford did not make Manchester United’s FA Cup fourth round clash at Newport County due to illness, but that came after he attended a nightclub in Belfast earlier in the week.
Rashford did not train on Friday after being ill, and sources close to Manchester United have confirmed to HITC that they understand the player did attend a nightclub in the Northern Irish capital on Thursday evening.
Rashford, along with Jonny Evans, missed the tricky trip to South Wales, and when asked about the situation – United boss Erik Ten Hag confirmed that the matter was going to be looked at by the club in the coming days.

Internal matter
“He reported ill,” said Ten Hag, when pushed on Rashford being in a nightclub, he added “It’s an internal matter, I’ll deal with it.”
When pushed if Rashford was missing due to disciplinary matters, he insisted: “It’s an internal matter.”
Ten Hag has never shied away from disciplining his squad when needed and indeed this is not the first matter that has arisen with Rashford.
After dropping him last January for an issue, that arose when Rashford over-slept and was late for training, he said then: “If you allow [players] to be undisciplined, if they don’t match the standards, values, rules we set together – that is the staff, players, and in the dressing room – then it will come back and blow in your face because on the pitch it does not then add the discipline which is necessary to win games.”
Difficult season
Rashford has endured a difficult season, which has come after he signed a new long-term contract in the summer making him one of the highest paid players at the club.
The England international has just four goals to his name this term, which is in stark contract to the previous campaign which saw him claim 17 Premier League goals and 30 in all competitions.
