Crystal Palace and Daniel Munoz ‘could be a good match’ as the Premier League outfit continue to be linked with a £10 million move for KRC Genk’s Colombian right-back.
With 15 goals and nine assists to his name since the start of last season, Crystal Palace could finally have themselves a top-level right-back. Not only that, but one capable of giving the Trent Alexander-Arnolds of the world a run for their money when it comes to key contributions in the final third.
Palace, according to the Daily Mail, are looking to strike a potential £10 million deal for the box-crashing Colombian. The Standard reports that Munoz has even gone on strike in an attempt to force through a move to Selhurst Park in the final week of the window, having made no secret of the fact that the Premier League is his ‘big dream’.
Crystal Palace eyeing Daniel Munoz

Eric van Meir, capped over 30 times by Belgium, has watched Munoz closely during three impressive seasons in the Jupiler League. And he has no doubt that the late-blooming 27-year-old could be a success in England, with his rumoured price-tag a bargain even for one of the Premier League’s less deep-pocketed clubs.
“That he would cost 10 million pounds? That is not (big) money for an English club. For KRC Genk, that is a huge sum,” Van Meir tells Voetbal Nieuws.
“I think he fits in the Premier League. He already has enough drive. Munoz and the Premier League, that could be a good match.”
Munoz, who’s agent confirmed interest from Everton back in 2021, would certainly represent an upgrade on the ageing Joel Ward and Nathaniel Clyne. Nathan Ferguson, the man brought in from West Brom to replace Wan Bissaka, has featured only once in the Premier League in four years due to a never-ending series of injuries.
Genk ace could bring goals to Selhurst Park
“Daniel Munoz is 27. Experienced. He’s Colombia’s first choice right-back. He’s an attacking right-back. There’s plenty of goals in him from that position, both with his right foot and getting in at the far post with his headers,” South American expert Tim Vickery tells Sky Sports of the ex-Atletico Nacional ace.
“He can go on the outside and cross. He’s quite tall, he’s more than 6ft, but defensively he maybe can be caught a little bit off balance. He can be ready for the Premier League, as long as you realise that what you’re buying here is an attacking right-back.”
Averaging just over a goal-a-game under Roy Hodgson, HITC Football understands that Palace are also looking at strikers. Chelsea’s Armando Broja and AZ Alkmaar’s Vangelis Pavlidis are under consideration.
The agent of Krasnodar frontman Jhon Cordoba, however, has ruled out a January move either to Crystal Palace or Nottingham Forest.
