Arsenal might be in desperate need of attacking quality during the January transfer window, but they are probably counting their lucky stars when it comes to Mykhailo Mudryk.
This time last season, the Arsenal fans were begging and pushing for their club to sign the rising star
Even though the 23-year-old himself seemingly was looking for a move to the Emirates, instead, he snubbed that and decided to join Chelsea.
Fast forward to the present and Mykhailo Mudryk is getting verbal pelters left, right and centre, with Craig Burley stating that he ‘can’t cross a ball’, as he told ESPN.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side were beaten 1-0 by Middlesbrough in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final on Tuesday night, with the £89 million star coming off the bench.
The fact that he isn’t starting against a Championship side in such a crucial game for his club, says it all.
But when the speedster was given a chance, Craig Burley just wasn’t impressed by what he saw, as he mentioned Arsenal’s past interest in him.
Mykhailo Mudryk at Chelsea
“£88 million, Mykhailo Mudryk because Arsenal were looking (to sign him),” said Burley. “He can’t cross the ball.
“He can run. I tell you what, he could probably beat 99.99% of the planet over 100 meters, but there is a little white thing you have to roll around that you have got to, at some point, either put it in the back of the net or put a decent cross in. He can’t do that!”

Mykhailo Mudryk picked the wrong club
From Arsenal’s perspective, they still would have got a raw player if Mudryk had signed.
He would have faired better under Arteta because they are more stable and there are better players to work alongside.
But the player himself needed the move more than anything because the Chelsea environment just isn’t suiting him.
But what is Arsenal’s blessing in disguise becomes Chelsea’s loss.
