Radu Dragusin would be better off leaving Genoa for Tottenham Hotspur rather than Bayern Munich with the Premier League giants still in talks over a potential £26 million deal.

That is according to Marcel Raducanu, a former Romania international who spent six years in the Bundesliga at Bayern’s yellow-and-black clad rivals Borussia Dortmund.

Radu Dragusin has been tipped to follow in his footsteps but HITC Football understands that Tottenham Hotspur remain confident of winning the race, despite suggestions of an eleventh-hour hi-jack from the German champions.

Raducanu, meanwhile, believes that 21-year-old Dragusin is better suited to Spurs than Bayern at this stage of his career, the youngster still unproven at the very top level and yet to iron out the kinks in his otherwise very impressive game.

“Everything is possible. He plays well. He’s an interesting player,” Raducanu tells Digi Sport

“He is also young. There are many teams that really want him. Why not join Bayern Munich if Napoli and Tottenham wanted him?

“I think that would be a bit of a ‘big hat’ for him at the moment. Tottenham would be good, to prove (himself) in England. (A move to) Bayern, I think it’s too fast.”

Dragusin in, Dier out?

HITC understands that Spurs are now offering Djed Spence to Genoa as part of the deal that would see Dragusin move in the other direction. Spence recently endured an underwhelming loan spell at Leeds United cut short but will be allowed to leave Tottenham again this month, alongside Sergio Reguilon and potentially Eric Dier too.

Ironically enough, Spurs beating Bayern to Dragusin could pave the way for Dier to reunite with Harry Kane at the Allianz Arena.

Tottenham are also closing in on RB Leipzig’s former Chelsea forward Timo Werner.

“Is Dragusin worth £30 million? The market determines the value,” argues Fabbio Pecchia, who coached the centre-half at Juventus. “I trained him a few years ago. And I can say that he is a strong, smart, and intelligent boy. In the end, however, the market produces numbers.

“Is he a Premier League player? For me, yes. He can become a top player. He has the (body) structure and physicality.”
