Tottenham Hotspur are pushing to sign Radu Dragusin – and he has been hailed as a ‘leader’ after what could prove to be his final game for Genoa.

Tottenham are clearly looking to get business done quickly in this January transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou is looking for a couple of signings and two deals are in the pipeline for Spurs.

HITC Football understands that Tottenham are set to complete the loan signing of RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner until the end of the season.

Sources also indicate that Tottenham are optimistic of agreeing a deal to sign Genoa defender Radu Dragusin with a £30million asking price on his head.

Tottenham want another centre back to compete with Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven moving forward and Dragusin is now their top target for that role.

Radu Dragusin praised after latest Genoa display

Genoa may sell Dragusin in the coming days but they still need him ready to go for Serie A action.

Friday saw Genoa head on the road as they faced Bologna away from home, and they looked to be on course for a 1-0 win.

Bologna grabbed an injury-time leveller though, leaving Dragusin and Genoa disappointed.

This may prove to be Dragusin’s final game in a Genoa shirt before heading to Tottenham and his performance has been praised.

Tuttomercatoweb rated Dragusin at 6.5 out of 10 whilst hailing him as the ‘leader’ of the Genoa back line.

They added that it’s ‘no coincidence’ that top Italian and European teams are interested in signing Dragusin when he turns in such impressive displays.

There have been links to other clubs, most notably Napoli, but Tottenham are the clear favourites to land Dragusin.

Dragusin would offer valuable immediate depth at the back whilst having the potential to become a star in the coming years.

There are concerns in Romania that Dragusin won’t play enough for Tottenham and that will head into Euro 2024 a little rusty.

Tottenham will have plans for Dragusin though and they look set to press forward with a deal for the centre back after another strong performance.
