Tottenham Hotspur are thought to have agreed personal terms with Genoa defender Radu Dragusin as release clause claims emerge.
2024 has only just started but Tottenham are trying to get a first signing over the line.
A central defender is an absolute priority with Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven both on the treatment table.
Whilst both will be back in the coming weeks, their absences expose a real lack of depth in the Tottenham back line and at least one signing is needed…
Radu Dragusin agrees personal terms with Tottenham Hotspur
Fabrizio Romano claimed over the weekend that Tottenham were closing in on Genoa defender Radu Dragusin.
Romano indicated that a £26million deal was moving in the right direction with talks progressing well.
Romano has since taken to social media to claim that Dragusin has in fact agreed personal terms with Tottenham ahead of a move to North London.
It was also suggested that Genoa wanted €30million (£26million) for Dragusin whereas Tottenham are trying to pay around €25million (£21.5million).
A gap of £4.5million will surely be bridged with Tottenham no doubt wary of missing out on the Romanian centre back.
Pro Sport in Romania now carry some interesting claims, stating that Dragusin has told Tottenham he is ready to sign a deal worth around €3million-a-year.

That works out to around £50,000-a-week, and there may even be a release clause included in the defender’s move to Tottenham.
It’s stated that a release clause of around €70million to €80million (£61million to £69million) is being demanded in order to facilitate a potential future move to clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich.
Daniel Levy may not like that idea but if a £26million signing ends up being worth nearly £70million, Tottenham will have done pretty well.
We don’t often see release clauses at Tottenham – at least publicly-known ones – and Spurs will now have to decide whether to accept those demands.
Tottenham appear to have agreed to the salary demands though and Dragusin’s move is inching closer just hours into the January transfer window opening.
