Aston Villa are targeting Lens midfielder Salis Abdul Samed as a potential replacement for Arsenal and Liverpool target Douglas Luiz.
Salis Abdul Samed featured against Arsenal on Wednesday night and could soon end up in the Premier League with Aston Villa.
That is according to a report from TEAMtalk, who claim that Villa are now looking into a move for Abdul Samed.
Lens were smashed 6-0 at the Emirates Stadium with Arsenal absolutely running riot against the Ligue 1 side.
Arsenal were 5-0 up by half time and seemed to take it easy after the break, but one Lens player could head to England in 2024.
Aston Villa want Salis Abdul Samed
TEAMtalk now claim that Aston Villa are interested in signing Lens midfielder Salis Abdul Samed.
It’s stated that Abdul Samed is on Villa’s wish list having scouted him in action for Lens this season.
Villa may well have used his trip to London on Wednesday to scout him, but this wasn’t the best night for Lens.
The report suggests that Villa would be looking to sign Abdul Samed if Douglas Luiz leaves Villa Park any time soon.
90Min reported earlier this week that Liverpool and Manchester City have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Luiz.
A January move would be a huge surprise but Villa may have to fend off interest in Luiz throughout 2024.
Villa will command huge money for the Brazilian but it would be wise to have potential replacements in mind with Abdul Samed now wanted.

Who is Villa target Abdul Samed?
Abdul Samed hails from Accra in Ghana and started out with the JMG Academy, first in Accra and then in the Ivory Coast.
French side Clermont Foot spotted Abdul Samed’s talent and took him on a two-year loan deal back in 2019.
The deal was turned permanent but Abdul Samed lasted just one more year at Clermont Foot before being snapped up by Lens.
The 23-year-old formed an outstanding midfield partnership with Seko Fofana last season, taking Lens into the Champions League in the process.
Fofana praised Abdul Samed as a ‘soldier’ last season with his tireless midfield work catching the eye over in France.
Now a full Ghana international with seven caps to his name, Abdul Samed is a talent on the rise and it’s no surprise to hear that Premier League interest is building.
