Pundit Paul Merson has shared his outrage after seeing Paris Saint-Germain score a controversial late equaliser against Newcastle United.
Newcastle United so nearly grabbed a famous win against Paris Saint-Germain, only to be denied by a contentious late penalty.
The Magpies took a first-half lead as Tino Livramento’s dancing feet eventually resulted in Alexander Isak scoring from close range.
Newcastle had to withstand immense PSG pressure; the hosts had 73% of possession and 31 shots on goal but it took a controversial decision to get them back into the game.
Livramento was harshly adjudged to have handled the ball inside the area, allowing Kylian Mbappe to step up and bury a 98th-minute penalty.
PSG even had a late chance to win it as Bradley Barcola headed over the bar, but Newcastle will leave the French capital with a point.

Referee Szymon Marciniak didn’t give the decision on the field, leading to furious PSG player almost chasing him around the Parc des Princes.
PSG were given their penalty after VAR intervention though, with Marciniak told to look at the screen and reconsider his decision.
Magpies fans will be absolutely gutted after seeing a potential win snatched away from them in cruel circumstances.
Newcastle also seem to have the support of pundits with Paul Merson taking to social media to share his verdict.
Merson tweeted just nine words on Newcastle’s late heartache – ‘Newcastle robbed! Never a pen in a million years!’ said the former Arsenal man.
This is a view being shared throughout the media with both Ally McCoist and Jermaine Jenas left furious on TNT Sports tonight.
All is not lost for Newcastle though; they can still book their place in the last 16 of the Champions League.
A win over AC Milan would be enough if PSG fail to beat Borussia Dortmund in Germany.
Newcastle have the advantage over PSG in terms of head-to-head record even after that controversial penalty, so the Magpies could have the last laugh yet.
