Celtic and Leeds United are now expected to do battle over the signing of Cape Town Spurs teenager Luke Baartman.
South African wonderkid Luke Baartman is now wanted by both Celtic and Leeds United ahead of the January transfer window.
That is according to The Scottish Sun, who claim that Baartman is attracting major interest.
The January window is just around the corner and fans will be getting excited about potential first-team additions.
That is the case for Celtic and Leeds; the Bhoys are chasing another league title whilst Leeds are in the mix for promotion back to the Premier League.
Players who can make an immediate impact will be wanted, but both Celtic and Leeds may also look at a talent for the future.
Celtic and Leeds United want Luke Baartman
The Scottish Sun now claim that both Celtic and Leeds are keen on Cape Town Spurs teenager Luke Baartman.
It’s stated that Celtic have been following Baartman and scouting him in action for Cape Town Spurs.
Celtic wouldn’t be viewing Baartman as an immediate first-team option but believe he has big potential.
The Bhoys expect competition from England though with Baartman being backed for a huge future.
Leeds are named as an interested club as the Whites look to repeat the success of Lucas Radebe with a raid for a South African ace.

Who is Celtic and Leeds target Baartman?
Baartman has come up in the Cape Town Spurs ranks and has now made four first-team appearances, recording one goal.
The 17-year-old has also picked up two caps for South Africa’s Under-19’s.
Baartman predominantly plays as a striker and he is being backed for a huge future over in South Africa.
Cape Town Spurs CEO Alexi Efstathiou told SNL24 earlier this month that he thinks Baartman has ‘got the X-factor’ and has ‘that little bit of something special’ in his game.
Efstathiou added that he knows interest will come but Cape Town Spurs don’t want to see Baartman leave just yet, having seen him rise through the ranks.
Baartman allegedly scored 84 goals in one season for Cape Town Spurs and we could see him with Celtic or Leeds in the near future.
