AC Milan have joined the race to sign Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior but the Gunners have no interest in letting him leave.
Roma and AC Milan look set to be disappointed in their pursuit of Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior ahead of January.
That is according to Tuttomercatoweb, who claim that Arsenal want to keep hold of Kiwior.
Arsenal struck a £20million deal to sign Kiwior from Spezia in January, adding him as another left-footed centre back option.
The Pole arrived as competition for Gabriel Magalhaes, but there is rising interest surrounding a potential return to Italian football.
AC Milan join race for Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior
Tuttomercatoweb now claim that AC Milan have joined Roma in the race to sign Kiwior.
Jose Mourinho is understood to be keen on taking Kiwior to Roma as cover for Evan Ndicka, who will be playing for the Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Milan have now initiated contact with Kiwior’s agent with the intention of securing a loan deal.
However, Arsenal are completely blocking any notion of a loan exit, preferring to keep Kiwior around.
Letting Kiwior go would mean Arsenal going back into the market for another left-sided defender, which just doesn’t add up.
Maybe Arsenal would sell Kiwior if they received an enticing cash offer, but that seemingly isn’t going to arrive from Milan or Roma.

Kiwior may not play much in 2024
We could hardly blame Kiwior if he fancied making the move back to Italy for a few months.
The 23-year-old has started just two Premier League games this season and played only six minutes of Champions League action.
Kiwior’s minutes look set to be limited in 2024 with Mikel Arteta unlikely to start throwing him into big Premier League or Champions League games.
Kiwior will just have to be ready to go if the chance comes; maybe Gabriel picks up an injury, maybe Arteta likes the idea of playing him at left back.
Arteta clearly likes Kiwior having suggested that he has ‘incredible potential’, but he will seemingly have to be patient in his search of first-team football at Arsenal.
