Tottenham Hotspur defender Joe Rodon has been praised after a Man of the Match performance for loan club Leeds United.

Joe Rodon continues to shine for Leeds United with a return to Tottenham Hotspur ruled out.

Leeds picked up another win on Saturday afternoon, beating Plymouth Argyle 2-1 at Elland Road.

The Whites sit third in the Championship table but still eight points adrift of the automatic promotion places.

Leeds are really gaining momentum with three wins in a row and Tottenham loanee Rodon is playing a key role.

Joe Rodon shines in Leeds United win

Welsh defender Rodon was outstanding against Plymouth, recording seven clearances, four tackles, one interception and blocked one shot.

Rodon also had a staggering 119 touches of the ball, the most of anybody on the pitch.

Leeds United fans voted Rodon as their Man of the Match against Plymouth, with the official Whites account praising a ‘monster performance’.

Rodon also took to Instagram to celebrate an ‘important three points’ as he prepares to head off on international duty with Wales.

Teammates Archie Gray and Junior Firpo showed their support whilst former Swansea City star Lee Trundle marvelled at ‘what a player’ Rodon has become for Leeds.

Rodon to Tottenham ruled out

Rodon’s Man of the Match award comes just as parent club Tottenham suffer real defensive problems.

Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are both out right now, leaving Ange Postecoglou with limited options at the back.

Some have wondered whether Tottenham could bring Rodon back to the club to solve Postecoglou’s problems.

Well, Leeds boss Farke has told The Athletic’s Phil Hay that Rodon is staying with Leeds for the full season, praising him as ‘brilliant’ for the Whites.

Tottenham may well be keeping tabs on Rodon’s progress, but it looks like the 26-year-old isn’t heading back to North London any time soon.
