Arsenal could struggle to sign Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa in the January transfer window.

That is according to The Mirror, which has claimed the issues that Arsenal will face in getting a deal done for Luiz in the middle of the season.

So, what is being reported about Arsenal, Douglas Luiz and Aston Villa?

Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, according to The Mirror, Arsenal want to sign Douglas Luiz from Premier League rivals Aston Villa in the middle of the season.

The report has claimed that Arsenal have made Luiz ‘a primary target’ in January.

However, Villa do not want to sell the Brazilian.

The report has noted that for a move to happen, Luiz “will have to agitate for a transfer this January”.

The Brazilian midfielder will have to push for a transfer and has to make it clear to Villa that he wants to leave.

Arsenal should aim for summer transfer for Douglas Luiz, not January

I do not think that Arsenal will be able to sign Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa in the January transfer window.

In my opinion, if Arsenal are really keen on the Brazilian, then they should look to make a deal for him in the summer of 2024.

Villa are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.

There is no way that they are going to sell any of their best players, including Luiz.

Even if the former Manchester City prospect asks Villa to sell him in the middle of the season, I do not think that the Villans will do so.

After all, Luiz has a contract with Villa.

The 25-year-old has scored five goals and given one assist in 11 Premier League matches so far this season.

The Brazilian star has made 151 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

Luiz has scored 16 goals and given 14 assists in those games.
