Liverpool could face a problem in signing Kylian Mbappe because of Mohamed Salah.

That is according to SPORT, which has claimed that AS Roma head coach Jose Mourinho could prevent Liverpool from signing the Paris Saint-Germain forward.

So, what is being reported about Liverpool, Kylian Mbappe and Mohamed Salah?

Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, according to a report in SPORT, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez could abandon the pursuit of Kylian Mbappe.

Madrid have long wanted to sign Mbappe, who is out of contract at Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.

SPORT has claimed that, along with Madrid, Liverpool have “always been aware of the situation” of the France international forward and could try to sign the 24-year-old on a free transfer in the summer of 2024.

If Mbappe does not sign for Madrid, then Liverpool are “the best-positioned club to make the signing of the French striker a reality”.

However, there is a potential problem for Liverpool in their quest to sign the 24-year-old, described as a “world-class” player by France head coach Didier Deschamps.

According to SPORT, if current AS Roma head coach Jose Mourinho becomes the new manager of Al Ittihad, then Mohamed Salah may not join the Saudi Arabian club.

Salah worked with Mourinho at Chelsea and reportedly does not have a great relationship with the former Manchester United manager.

For Liverpool to sign Mbappe, they have to sell Salah in the summer of 2024 and raise funds, according to the report.

Liverpool should not give up on signing Kylian Mbappe

In my opinion, Liverpool should not give up on signing Kylian Mbappe.

If Mbappe does become a free agent in the summer of 2024, then Liverpool simply have to try to sign him.

They have to.

After all, Arsenal have also been linked.

Mbappe is a ‘generational talent’, and the Reds have to at least try to convince him to move to Anfield.

The French striker has scored 10 goals and given one assist in nine Ligue 1 starts and has scored two goals in four UEFA Champions League matches for PSG this season.
