Liverpool are now ‘absolutely unlikely’ to sign Bayern Munich talent Jamal Musiala – but Manchester City have a chance.
Manchester City appear to be a more likely destination than Liverpool for Bayern Munich ace Jamal Musiala.
That is according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, who reports that Musiala is not even thinking about leaving Bayern right now.
There have been mounting rumours about Musiala potentially leaving Bayern in the near future.
The 20-year-old is still under contract until 2026 but he may look to leave if Bayern don’t improve his current terms.
That has resulted in rumours about Musiala’s future at the club – but a move to Liverpool is doubtful.
Jamal Musiala to Liverpool played down
Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg now claims that Liverpool are monitoring Musiala’s situation.
The Reds seemingly fancy signing him as a big addition if Mohamed Salah leaves, even if he wouldn’t be a direct replacement.
However, Plettenberg adds that a move to Liverpool is considered ‘absolutely unlikely’ as things stand.
Musiala seemingly doesn’t see Liverpool as a realistic move right now but does have two other options in mind.
Plettenberg claims that there are only two realistic options – Real Madrid and Manchester City.
Liverpool missing out on Musiala would be one things but to see him go to a direct rival in City would really sting.

My view: Musiala would be an enormous signing for Liverpool
Some Liverpool fans will still feel gutted about missing out on Jude Bellingham this summer.
The England star moved to Real Madrid instead and has taken Europe by storm with some unbelievable performances.
It may seem unlikely at the moment but, if Liverpool can somehow sign Musiala, then his arrival would be similar to that of Bellingham.
Hailed as ‘extraordinary’ by Julian Nagelsmann, Musiala has sensational dribbling ability and the potential to become a Ballon d’Or winner down the line.
If the Reds even have a glimmer of hope then they have to push for Musiala, as he is a truly world class talent who could Jurgen Klopp’s side to another level.
