Mykhailo Mudryk scored for Chelsea against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at Stamford Bridge in the London derby this past weekend, but head coach Mauricio Pochettino wants him to do more.
Chelsea played out a 2-2 draw with Arsenal at home in the Premier League this past Saturday.
Mykhailo Mudryk scored the second goal for Chelsea.
It came in the 48th minute.
The 22-year-old Ukraine international winger found the back of the net with a speculative effort from out wide that caught Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya off guard.
Raya’s positioning was not right.
Mauricio Pochettino on Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk
Although Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino was pleased for Mudryk, he has made it clear that the winger needs to do more and get better.
When asked if Mudryk ran out of gas against Arsenal, Pochettino said, as quoted in Football.London: “No, I think he is playing well but also he needs to improve still.

“For me he is not at his best.
“I think we needed to change and to put a bit more of pressure on Nicolas Jackson up front.
“After that situation, we created a few chances and I think the game was closer to 3-0 than 2-1.”
Smart management from Mauricio Pochettino
I think it is very smart management from Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino to publicly tell Mykhailo Mudryk to improve.
Pochettino clearly does not want the winger to get complacent.
And the former Tottenham Hotspur head coach is also aware of just how good the Ukrainian is and the potential he has.
I believe that Pochettino is right in telling Mudryk to continue to work hard and improve.
After all, Mudryk is only 22.
Mudryk has made four starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Blues so far this season.
The winger has scored two goals in those games.
Chelsea are 10th in the Premier League table at the moment with 12 points from nine matches.
The Blues are eight points behind London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, who are fourth and have played eight games.
