Arsenal target Michael Kayode is set to agree a new contract with Fiorentina and snub Premier League interest.

Fiorentina are set to fend off interest from Arsenal as they line up a new contract for youngster Michael Kayode.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Kayode will be signing a new deal at Fiorentina.

Fiorentina were rocked in September as first-choice right back Dodo suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament injury.

The transfer window is closed so Fiorentina had to promote somebody into the right back role – and they have stumbled across a star in Kayode.

Arsenal target Michael Kayode to stay at Fiorentina

19-year-old Kayode was in the ranks at Juventus and Gozzano before joining Fiorentina in 2021.

An Italian Under-19 international, Kayode has impressed whilst filling in for Dodo, producing some superb displays.

Firenze Viola reported earlier this month that Arsenal had been scouting Kayode ahead of a potential move.

The Gunners are always in the market for top young players and Kayode had appeared on Edu’s radar.

Fiorentina have recognised the interest in Kayode though and Fabrizio Romano claims that Kayode has now agreed a new deal until 2028.

Romano adds that the deal will be ‘announced soon’ with Kayode committing his immediate future to the Serie A side.

Arsenal should still keep tabs on Kayode

Hailed as ‘explosive’ and ‘exceptional’ over in Italy, Kayode is showing immense potential for Fiorentina.

This new deal at least makes a January exit unlikely for Kayode, but is unlikely to ward off top European clubs for long.

There may even be a release clause as part of the deal with Fiorentina no doubt understanding that Kayode may go right to the top.

Arsenal may still be in the market for a long-term right back option and Kayode could be that player – if they are willing to wait a whilst to make a deal happen.
