Don Hutchison has named Liverpool hero and Nottingham Forest striker, Divock Origi as the ‘worst transfer’ this season.
The 28-year-old, after leaving Liverpool in 2022, returned to the Premier League stage this summer.
After spending 12 months on AC Milan’s bench, Divock Origi has now seemingly decided to take up that role at Nottingham Forest.
That’s why Don Hutchison was quick to label his transfer as ‘pointless’ and as the ‘worst’ so far, as he told ESPN.
Since joining Steve Cooper’s side, he has made four appearances, all from the bench.
Last season, when in Milan, he only made ten starts from his 36 games, before he was allowed to leave.

Divock Origi ‘worst’ transfer
“I was loathed with the word ‘worst’, but the pointless transfer I could have gone for was Divock Origi,” said Hutchison.
“I am not being unkind. But he didn’t play at Milan. When I found out that Forest were going to buy him. I thought, well, he’s not going to play there, and he hasn’t.
“So, that was a bit of worst come pointless (transfer).”

Origi’s performances from the bench
In truth, it’s not a great label to have and it’s not something you want to be known by.
But if you are going to have that ‘bench player’ label, then you better make the best use of it and Origi, as Liverpool fans know too well, has done that very, very well.
From his stoppage-time winner against Everton to his goal in the Champions League final, Origi has many memorable moments from the bench that the Anfield faithful will never ever forget.
But now, at the peak of his powers, he surely has to put himself in a situation where he is starting games on a more regular basis.
