Dominik Szoboszlai has been one of the best players for Liverpool so far this season, but BBC Sport pundit Alan Shearer does not think that he can be compared to Anfield legend Steven Gerrard just yet.
Dominik Szoboszlai joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window and has made an immediate impact at the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners.
Szoboszlai has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water and has become an important player in manager Jurgen Klopp’s side already.
The 22-year-old Hungary international attacking midfielder has scored one goal in six Premier League matches for Liverpool so far this season.
The youngster has also scored one goal in one substitute appearance in the Carabao Cup so far this campaign.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Gary Lineker has been impressed by Szoboszlai.
The Match of the Day presenter on BBC Sport has noted that Liverpool fans think that they have the new Steven Gerrard.
Gerrard is one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s history and is one of the best midfielders of all time.
Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer does not agree.
While Shearer rates Szoboszlai and believes that he looks like a quality player, the BBC Sport pundit thinks that it is too early to compare the youngster to Steven Gerrard.
Speaking on the Rest is Football podcast, Lineker said, as transcribed by TBR: “Szoboszlai has been getting rave reviews. I’ve been very impressed with him when he has played. Liverpool fans have been talking about their new Steven Gerrard.”
Shearer then said: “Sometimes it takes players time to settle – not this guy. He looks the real deal straight away.
“Everything about his game, what you need as a midfielder, energy, and he looks a class act. I know it’s very early but what we are seeing from him, I think, yeah, probably too early to be mentioning him in the same breath as Steven Gerrard. But, what a great start he has had to his career at Liverpool.”

We agree with Alan Shearer.
In our opinion, it is too early for Liverpool fans to think that Dominik Szoboszlai is the second coming of Steven Gerrard.
Yes, there are some very good similarities, perhaps most notably the dynamism in their games, but the Hungarian has played only a handful of matches for Liverpool.
For years and years, Gerrard carried Liverpool on his own.
