Micky van de Ven says Tottenham star James Maddison is already the best he has ever played with.
The Dutch defender, who joined Tottenham this summer alongside James Maddison, added that his new teammate has ‘so much quality’ and is ‘pure class’, as Micky van de Ven told the club’s YouTube channel.
This shouldn’t be a surprise because it could be argued that the 26-year-old has been Ange Postecoglou’s best player during the early stages of the new season.
Not only did he win August’s Premier League Player of the Month award, but he ensured that it was no curse by tearing Arsenal apart in the north London derby.
On a pitch that had a host of stars, James Maddison nabbed himself two assists, including getting the better of his England teammate, Bukayo Saka.
Nonetheless, whilst the former Leicester City star has tasted Premier League football for many years before, this is Micky van de Ven’s first venture into the big time.

On who has impressed him the most in Tottenham training: “Maddison,” responded the Dutch star to Tottenham’s YouTube channel.
“He has so much quality. You can see it on the pitch already.
“To be honest, every player when I came here, the level was so high and you were like ‘wow’. The Premier League is the top of the top.
On the best player he has ever played with: “For me, Madders, when I came here, he is quality. This is pure class when you see him play.”
Maddison is loving life at Tottenham
The all-action playmaker was made for this. He suits being the playmaker for Tottenham down to a tee.
The only question supporters will pose is ‘why didn’t we sign him sooner?’, well, everyone knows the answer to that one.
Either way, Maddison is enjoying the responsibility of, not only being the main man at dinner, but the main man out on the pitch for Spurs also.
