Ally McCoist has backed Napoli striker Victor Osimhen to join Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
The 24-year-old has been engulfed in a row inside his own club after Napoli’s official TikTok account mocked their own player following his penalty miss against Bologna.
Even though TikTok is that type of platform and it was intended as a joke, it hit the nerve of Victor Osimhen and his team.
That opened the transfer door of who could sign Napoli’s title-winning forward, with McCoist claiming that he would fit Arsenal ‘incredibly well’, as he told talkSPORT (28/09/23 at 7:55 am).
Even before the madness of this past week involving Napoli’s TikTok, there were always suggestions that Victor Osimhen was Premier League-bound sooner rather than later – Thierry Henry expressed his surprise at the player not leaving this summer.
It’s just a case of whose doorstep he will land on, well, McCoist thinks it’s pretty simple.

Osimhen to Arsenal
“I said it for months, as soon as I saw him in the Champions League, some of his performances were different class,” said McCoist.
“I tell you right now. We both said that Arsenal could do with a proper centre-forward. He would fit that bill for the Arsenal incredibly well, I am telling you.”

TikTok video blown out of proportion
It was just a joke that has been blown well out of proportion. There should never have been such a fuss about it all.
Why on God’s green earth would Napoli want to devalue a player that helped win them the Serie A title for the first time in three decades? And that via a TikTok video?!
Clearly, the world is too sensitive for some people and it’s probably best you just praise Osimhen from now on, or else, his and Harry Maguire’s team will be on you in a flash.
