Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has praised Aaron Ramsdale for his attitude around London Colney despite losing his place.
Aaron Ramsdale has been hailed as being ‘exceptional’ around the Arsenal training ground.
That is the view of Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, who was speaking to Football London after the 1-0 win over Brentford on Wednesday night.
The Gunners moved into the fourth round of the EFL Cup by beating the Bees, with Reiss Nelson scoring the only goal of the game.
Arsenal had to withstand plenty of Brentford pressure but came out with a clean sheet and a narrow win in West London.

Aaron Ramsdale given a chance to shine
We were expecting big changes from Arteta for this game in order to rotate his squad.
Sure enough, the Gunners boss handed starts to the likes of Takehiro Tomiyasu, Jakub Kiwior, Emile Smith Rowe and teenager Charles Sagoe Jr.
There was also a start for goalkeeper Ramsdale after a testing couple of weeks for the England international.
Arteta decided to drop Ramsdale in favour of David Raya against Everton, and that situation continued against PSV and Tottenham Hotspur.
Ramsdale came in against Brentford and made three saves, helping Arsenal keep a clean sheet.
Playing again and helping Arsenal win will have been a major boost for Ramsdale, who has now been praised by Arteta…

Arteta hails Ramsdale attitude
Arteta has offered Ramsdale praise after his clean sheet against Brentford.
Speaking to Football London, Arteta suggested that Ramsdale has been ‘exceptional around the place’, showing great attitude around London Colney.
Ramsdale seemingly hasn’t thrown his toys out of the pram after being dropped for Raya with his approach now earning praise.
“For sure. He’s been exceptional around the place with the situation. Like everybody,” said Arteta.
Whether this performance is enough to get Ramsdale back in the team regularly remains to be seen.
We would still expect to see Raya in goal this weekend but at least Ramsdale is impressing Arteta with his attitude and application.
