Graham Roberts hasn’t taken too kindly to the Arsenal-Tottenham combined XI that has been put up by Sky Sports’ Instagram page.

With the north London derby set to spark fire into everyone’s Sunday afternoon, the build-up to the game has seen fans from across the world name their combined XI of the two teams.

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham, heading into today’s game, sit second in the Premier League table, with many players performing at the top of their game during these early stages, whilst Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are level on points in fourth spot and hoping to push for the title again.

But when Tottenham legend Graham Roberts read that only two Spurs players – James Maddison and Son Heung-min – made the NLD combined XI, he stated on Twitter ‘Put that on the wall in our dressing room’.

A lot does depend on how people are picking the players, of course, current form is included, but do fans also look at the bigger picture of last season, for instance?

The simple reason is that if you went off form just from five games, then it’s pretty pointless and such a small sample of evidence to pick from.

“Put that on the wall in our dressing room before the match,” said Roberts. “That will be a great incentive if they need one.

“Go and get into them and our football will give us a great chance.”

Time to do the talking on the pitch

At the end of the day, all that matters is what is said and done out on the pitch, and not off the field of play.

Tottenham’s record away at Arsenal isn’t great, with only two wins to their name.

But, if there was a time to go against history, then it’s with this ever-growing and free-flowing side that is being made to feel a million dollars by their manager, Ange Postecoglou.

The Australian has been lauded left, right and centre for his work so far, but this is his biggest test yet.
