Praise for Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure vs Arsenal
Abdoulaye Doucoure started the match for Everton.
The £120,000-a-week (SalarySport) Mali international featured in a five-man midfield in a 4-4-1 formation.
And former Newcastle United and West Ham United manager Alan Pardew was impressed.

Pardew said on talkSPORT (7:46pm, September 17, 2023): “Doucoure exceptional in terms of the moments he had.
“He was the only one who kind of burst out a couple of times and created something. The others, I didn’t see much.”
Abdoulaye Doucoure performance review
Like many of the Everton players, Abdoulaye Doucoure was not at his best against Arsenal, but he did give his all and was a bright spark on occasions.
While the Everton defenders did well in keeping the Arsenal attackers at bay for most of the game, the midfield and the attack could not consistently threaten the Gunners’ backline.
Doucoure did burst forward a couple of times, but there was not really much edge to it.
He played in moments.
The 30-year-old did work hard and was always there to help out his team defensively.
Doucoure played better in the first half than in the second period.
The midfielder played two key passes, had a pass accuracy of 64.7%, took 27 touches, attempted one dribble, and made four tackles.
