Archie Rhind-Tutt has shared that the reason why Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could be tempted to take the now-vacant Germany job this season is because of the chance to ‘be the face of a home European tournament’.
Germany will host Euro 2024 next summer and the planning towards that couldn’t have got any worse because, on Sunday, they sacked manager, Hansi Flick, with Liverpool’s man in the dugout a person of interest.
It was noted by Bundesliga expert Rhind-Tutt that Jurgen Klopp, whose current Liverpool contract expires in 2026, is the ‘dream’ appointment for the Germany FA, as he told ESPN.
Just like with Mohamed Salah and interest from Saudi Arabia this summer, the powers that be at Liverpool will have a few things to say about anyone trying to lure their key figures away.
The Reds kept the Saudis at bay, in regards to Salah, and you would think they would be able to do the same with Klopp, if anybody knocks.
Nonetheless, with Flick out of the door, and Euro 2024 around the corner, Rhind-Tutt shares which individuals are in the running.

Next Germany manager?
“You are looking at Julian Nagelsmann, he has been mentioned,” said Archie Rhind-Tutt. “You are also looking at Oliver Glasner, the Eintracht Frankfurt coach. He has been talked about as well.
“I think the dream scenario for them would be Jurgen Klopp. But I think that’s a little bit out of reach. I wonder if it would tempt him potentially.
“Being the face or one of the faces of a home European tournament is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, let alone as a coach. That’s why I think it maybe tickles the fancy of Jurgen Klopp maybe later down the line in the season if they can’t find the big solution now.”

Klopp as Germany’s manager…one day
You would think this will happen, one day, but perhaps just not now, even if Germany are set to host Euro 2024.
Just like with Pep Guardiola with Spain, you think it would be a waste if managers and coaches of this calibre don’t take the reigns of their respective nations one day.
If Germany want Klopp, then surely they would need and want him now, and given that’s highly unlikely, then you would expect they look elsewhere and that individual just keeps the seat warm for Klopp.
