Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are now reportedly trying to convince Callum Wilson to sign a new contract.

According to TEAMtalk, Newcastle United are in talks with Callum Wilson over a new deal.

Wilson is out of contract at Newcastle, who will play in the UEFA Champions League this season, in the summer of 2024.

The report has claimed that Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is “a huge admirer of Wilson”, adding that he personally “wants to secure the striker’s future on a long-term basis”.

TEAMtalk has added that Newcastle do not absolutely want to lose Wilson for nothing next summer and are trying to agree on a long-term deal with the England international striker, who earns £92,000 per week as salary at the moment (SalarySport).

Wilson has proven to be a very good signing for Newcastle and is at the top of his game at the moment.

The Magpies are aiming to establish themselves as regulars in the Premier League top four and play in the UEFA Champions League season after season.

Newcastle are going places under owners Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and manager Eddie Howe.

Wilson has made 205 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The striker has scored 81 goals and given 22 assists in those games.

Wilson has scored two goals in four substitute appearances in the Premier League for Newcastle so far this season.

The striker scored 18 goals and gave five assists in 21 league starts for the Magpies last campaign.
