Andy Walker has questioned if Che Adams will leave Southampton during the January transfer window after his failed move to Sean Dyche’s Everton this summer.
The Celtic legend was praising the hard-hitting striker for how well he leads the line for Scotland, as they are on the brink of securing a place at Euro 2024.
Che Adams was relegated with Southampton last season, scoring only five goals, with Walker claiming that Everton ‘wanted’ to sign the English-born player, as he told Go Radio.
In the end, the struggling Toffees added Beto to their squad following his transfer from Serie A side, Udinese.
And despite Adams having 124 Premier League games under his belt, including his teammates, such as James Ward-Prowse and Romeo Lavia leaving, he stayed put.
Either way, Walker still thinks that Adams is a player who leads the line ‘really well’ and someone who brings ‘strength’ to his game.

Everton’s summer interest in Adams
“Everton must regard themselves as a relegation club because that’s where they have been in and around, “ said Walker.
“They wanted Che Adams’ experience to get themselves out of a difficult position. But a move didn’t come off.
“I don’t know what will happen with him in January because he has been on the bench for Southampton. I think he leads the line really well. He has that strength. Physique. He can bring others into play.
“And Scotland have a lot of players who can get forward and make a lot of things happen in that final third.”

Adams is too good for the Championship, but not good enough for the Premier League
The 27-year-old is a prime example of someone who is too good for the Championship, but just can’t seem to cut it in the Premier League.
During Adams’ past two seasons in England’s top-flight, he scored 12 goals, but in four Championship matches this season, he already has three goals. And that’s after starting only one game.
Regardless of what Southampton do this season, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Adams hits 20+ goals.
