Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus in the January transfer window.

Journalist Simon Phillips has reported on Substack that Dusan Vlahovic is among the strikers that Chelsea are interested in signing when the window opens again in January.

Chelsea remain keen on Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic

Phillips has noted that Chelsea wanted to sign Vlahovic in the summer transfer window.

The reporter has claimed Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins and Jonathan David of Lille are also on the radar of the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners.

Phillips said, as relayed by BirminghamWorld: “Dusan Vlahovic was obviously looked at in the summer. He’s still there.

“Jonathan David from Lille. And the last one is Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa.”

Chelsea could struggle to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic in January 2024

We do not think that Chelsea would be able to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus in the January transfer window.

It is very unlikely that Juventus would be willing to sell any of their best players in the middle of the season.

And that includes Vlahovic.

The £215,000-a-week (SalarySport) Serbia international striker has started the season strongly.

Vlahovic, who is “lightning” and whose “left foot is like a wand”, according to former Manchester City and Fiorentina defender Micah Richards on BBC Radio 5 Live in December 2021, has scored two goals and given one assist in three Serie A starts so far this season.

Juventus are aiming to win the Serie A title this campaign.

It is not often that a big club like Juventus sell a top-quality player like Vlahovic in the middle of a season.

If Chelsea are to sign the striker from Juventus, then it is likely that they would have to wait until the summer of 2024.
