Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has raved about Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will lock horns with Unai Emery’s Aston Villa at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
John McGinn is one of the best midfielders for Villa, and the Scotland international is set to start for the visiting team.
The 28-year-old has established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League and was linked with a move to Liverpool not so long ago.
In June 2021, The Sunday Post (Post Match pullout, 20/06, p2) reported that Liverpool were interested in raiding Villa for McGinn.
The report claimed that Villa valued the midfielder at £20 million.
Manchester United were also linked with McGinn.

And now ahead of the game today, Klopp has made it clear what he thinks of McGinn.
Klopp told Liverpool’s official website: “[They have] speed on the wings, Watkins up front, McGinn super-smart, physical as well but then really looking for these balls in behind and these kind of things.”
Villa are in good form at the moment, and McGinn will be a big player against Liverpool.

Although the Reds will head into the Premier League match at Anfield as favourites, it is hard to see Villa pick up all three points from the encounter.
Emery’s side, though, could eke out a draw.
McGinn has made 137 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The midfielder has scored 11 goals and given 15 assists in those games.
McGinn has scored one goal in three Premier League matches for Villa so far this season.
