Serge Aurier has told Brennan Johnson, via his Instagram story, ‘I will miss you’ after he left Nottingham Forest to join Tottenham Hotspur on transfer deadline day.

Following the departure of Harry Kane, Tottenham needed to add more flavour and quality to their attack, so they turned to a rising Welsh star in Brennan Johnson.

It went to the wire, but hours before Friday’s transfer deadline slammed shut, Spurs secured his talents.

And then, via his Instagram story on Saturday, Serge Aurier sent a heartfelt message to his now-departed teammate.

The all-action right-back, who helped Nottingham Forest beat Chelsea 1-0 on Saturday, understands what it takes to represent the club after spending several years at Hotspur Way.

And whilst Aurier is sad to see Johnson leave the City Ground, he is overjoyed at his move to Spurs.

Johnson adds spice to firing Tottenham attack

Even though Spurs have lost 30 Premier League goals via the boot of Harry Kane, it’s not showing out on the pitch.

The football Ange Postecoglou’s side are producing is breathtaking during these early stages and that was proven by their demolition job against Burnley.

And add Johnson to the mix, added with his potential, then they are probably going to be one of the best teams to watch in the Premier League this season.
