David de Gea and Bryan Gil have sent their messages of support to Sergio Reguilon after he secured a season-long loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur to Manchester United on deadline day.

On Saturday, the Spain international took to Instagram to express his delight at making a move to Manchester United.

Sergio Reguilon, who joined Tottenham in 2020 from Real Madrid, told fans that he is ‘very happy’ to be playing for Erik ten Hag’s side.

This is a deal that suits all parties because Tottenham needed to get the player off their wage bill, he needs minutes and those at Old Trafford need another pair of legs to fill in at left-back after injuries.

Spurs fans will be watching Reguilon’s potential Man United debut with interest because it might just come against Arsenal on Sunday at the Emirates.

If it does, then what a way for the player to introduce himself, with the 26-year-old expressing his delight yesterday at securing a move to the Champions League side, with his fellow countryman, Bryan Gil and David de Gea, posting messages of support in the comments section.

“The band will miss you, but you deserve all the best,” wrote Gil, who is currently out injured for Spurs, whilst de Gea, who was released by Manchester United this summer, simply had a two-word message, ‘fight it’.

Reguilon leaves, but other unwanted Spurs stars stay

When it comes to outgoings, it wasn’t just a frustrating summer for Tottenham, but a deadline day also.

Whilst Reguilon headed for the exit door, many other unwanted stars, Eric Dier, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Tanguy Ndombele, Hugo Lloris and Davinson Sanchez, to name a few, stayed put.

This isn’t helpful because many of them, who haven’t even made a single matchday squad this season, aren’t wanted, so them just staying on means the club not being able to bring in fresh faces, which halts the amazing progression Ange Postecoglou has made so far.
