Tottenham Hotspur are not giving up hope of signing Barcelona forward Ansu Fati despite his expected move to Brighton and Hove Albion.
Ansu Fati is closing in on a move to Brighton and Hove Albion but Tottenham Hotspur remain interested.
That is according to Sky Sports with reporter Tom White sharing the update live on air this morning.
White suggested that Fati will be playing into the UK today in order to hold further talks with Brighton over a potential move.
Fabrizio Romano reported late on Wednesday night that Brighton were closing in on signing Fati with Barcelona accepting a loan deal.
Fati has allegedly agreed the move after speaking to boss Roberto De Zerbi but further talks will now take place.
Intriguingly, White adds that Tottenham have not left the race for Fati just yet having held talks to sign him this week.
Tottenham are seemingly sticking around to see if Fati’s move to Brighton collapses and may still hope to strike a deal at the last minute.
“A line to update you this morning; Ansu Fati is expected to travel to the UK today to continue talks over a potential move to Brighton,” said White. “The club emerged as a new destination for the Barcelona forward last night. Tottenham have also been in talks to sign him and they do remain interested,” he added.

Tottenham Hotspur face tricky final hours of the transfer window amid Ansu Fati drama
Tottenham are chasing a versatile forward to help fill the void left by Harry Kane.
Ange Postecoglou would seemingly prefer to land somebody who can play across the front line rather than a number nine like Kane.
Fati was one target but the main player on the Tottenham radar appears to be Nottingham Forest ace Brennan Johnson.

A deal won’t be easy – or cheap – and Tottenham may need to move some players on first.
Tanguy Ndombele and Sergio Reguilon clearly have no future at Tottenham whilst Hugo Lloris, Eric Dier, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Bryan Gil can go too.
Unless Tottenham can offload some of those players, stumping up the cash and creating room for Johnson – or Fati – could be a little tricky.
