Former Dutch international Ronald de Boer believes Ibrahim Sangare could be a solution for Liverpool as the Premier League giants eye a defensive midfielder.
Wataru Endo is hardly the first new signing to struggle on his full Premier League debut. But, still, his performance during Sunday’s remarkable 2-1 win at Newcastle United was not one which had the travelling fans feeling they had signed a player on a par with top targets Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.
And further reports linking Liverpool with the likes of Cheick Doucoure, Andre Trindade and Exequiel Palacios certainly suggest that Endo is unlikely to be the only ‘number six’ to arrive at Anfield before the window closes. If Jurgen Klopp gets his wish, that is.

Ibrahim Sangare is another name to keep an eye on; ESPN reporting that there is interest from Liverpool in the Ivorian colossus.
Liverpool may be tempted to make Ibrahim Sangare move
“I think he’s a great player,” De Boer tells Voetbal Nieuws, predicting that Sangare’s £32 million release clause will be triggered before this week’s deadline.
“I think PSV cannot keep him. He will still go to a real top team such as Liverpool. Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain? In my opinion, he can handle that.”
De Boer draws comparisons between Sangare and a man who changed top-level football to such an extent that he even has an entire position named after him.

“I always say; if you give him the Claude Makelele role – (where he can) take the ball and pass it on to someone who can play football well – then he is a golden player for your team.
“You need those kinds of players in your team.”
Nottingham Forest are the Premier League outfit who appear to have shown the most interest in Sangare at this stage; the former Toulouse ace on Steve Cooper’s radar alongside Wilmar Barrios and Florentino Luis.
Conversations from outside are normal. I defend the colours of this jersey in every match,” Zenit enforcer Barrios tells Russian website Meta Ratings. “Yes, I have an offer from Nottingham Forest.
