West Ham United are interested in signing Cody Drameh as his Leeds United future remains unclear.

Cody Drameh is a player on West Ham United’s transfer radar with David Moyes eyeing up a new right back.

That is according to The Athletic, who claim that Drameh has been attracting interest in the Premier League.

It’s stated that three Premier League sides have a ‘speculative eye’ on Drameh ahead of deadline day.

All of them are based in London with Brentford, Crystal Palace and West Ham United understood to be keen.

Southampton are also keen on signing Drameh with boss Russell Martin believed to be a huge fan.

The report claims that Martin wanted to take Drameh on loan at his previous club Swansea City but missed out.

However, Southampton may only move if Kyle Walker-Peters ends up leaving the club before the transfer deadline.

Cody Drameh an interesting option for West Ham United

West Ham do have some options at right back if they play with a back four.

Vladimir Coufal and Ben Johnson are the main options whilst Thilo Kerher can also play there if needed.

None of them are particularly exciting going forward though and certainly aren’t great fits if Moyes switches to play with wing backs, as he does on occasion.

Drameh would be a better fit for that role and offers more dynamism going forward.

Drameh featured as a right wing back on loan at Luton Town as they clinched promotion to the Premier League.

Moyes and co may well have seen Drameh’s ability in that loan spell and may see him as the future for the right side of West Ham’s back line.

Drameh excelled for Luton but still isn’t a first-team regular for Leeds, surely pointing towards a departure.

West Ham’s interest doesn’t appear to be advanced right now but there could be scope for a London return for Dulwich-born Drameh in the coming days.
