Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has declared that his transfer window is over amid links to Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

Gabriel Magalhaes has been linked with Real Madrid but it looks like he won’t be leaving Arsenal for the Spanish capital.

The transfer window is entering its final few days and we’re expecting to see plenty of business being done.

That won’t be the case at Real Madrid though with Carlo Ancelotti seemingly ending his transfer window a week early.

Ancelotti has been quoted by Fabrizio Romano as saying that he can 100% rule out any new signings arriving at Real before the deadline.

Ancelotti said ‘it’s over’ with regards to the transfer window and claims his squad at the Santiago Bernabeu is now closed despite links to Arsenal defender Gabriel.

“No, I rule that out. 100% no,” said Ancelotti. “It’s over, I discard any new signing before market closes — the squad is closed,” he added.

Real have secured the signings of Fran Garcia, Jude Bellingham, Joselu, Arda Guler and Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer.

Marco Asensio, Karim Benzema and Eden Hazard lead the departures with Real now looking to wrestle back the La Liga title from Barcelona.

Real Madrid won’t be signing Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes

Ancelotti’s comments suggest that there is simply no chance Real will be snapping up Arsenal defender Gabriel in the coming days.

Real have lost star centre back Eder Militao to injury and have been linked with signing a defensive replacement.

Reports from the Daily Mail earlier this week claimed that Real have a very genuine interest in signing Gabriel before the deadline.

That report also indicated that Gabriel was happy to stay at Arsenal and his stance may well have prompted Ancelotti to say that his window is over.

Real aren’t just going to go and sign anybody to cover for Militao and if they can’t land a top target like Gabriel, they may prefer to save their money.

It’s great news for Arsenal, even if Gabriel hasn’t been in the starting lineup in either of their two Premier League games this season.

Signed from Lille for £27million in 2020, Gabriel will now be looking to put the speculation to one side and focus on getting back into the Arsenal team.
