Conor Gallagher does not want to leave Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea amid interest from Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report.

The Sun has reported that Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace are interested in signing Conor Gallagher from London and Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

However, Gallagher does not want to leave Chelsea for Spurs or Palace and wants to stay put, according to the report in the British tabloid.

Journalist Graeme Bailey reported on the Talking Transfers Podcast in late July that Tottenham want to sign the 23-year-old England international midfielder, who was described as “extraordinary and outstanding” by former Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel on the club’s official website in April 2022 while he was on loan at Palace.

Journalist Dean Jones told GiveMeSport last month that Tottenham, West Ham United, Crystal Palace, Everton and Newcastle United all are interested in Gallagher.

Conor Gallagher’s Tottenham Hotspur stance sensible

We believe that Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher not willing to leave the Blues for Tottenham Hotspur is sensible.

After all, Gallagher has been on the books of Chelsea since 2008 and is now part of head coach Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team squad.

Pochettino was appointed the Chelsea boss this summer, and it would make sense for Gallagher to at least try to make it work in the first half of the season.

Gallagher started for Chelsea against Liverpool in their opening Premier League game of the season.

And he did well.

Pochettino clearly rates the England international.

True, the signings of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia could make it hard for Gallagher to play week in and week out now.

But, the midfielder would not know if he is good enough to feature regularly for Chelsea under Pochettino if he does not try.

Gallagher has made 100 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The 23-year-old has scored 13 goals and given six assists in the process.
