Oleksandr Zinchenko has shown Jurrien Timber his support via his Instagram story after Arsenal’s summer signing suffered an ACL injury.

In what was Jurrien Timber’s Premier League debut over the weekend, he limped off the pitch in the second half of his side’s 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest.

And now Arsenal fans have got the news they dreaded. There is now every possibility that Timber doesn’t kick a ball again this season, with the club confirming on Instagram that ‘he will be out of action for a period of time’.

This is a body blow to the Premier League title challengers, especially given that he could argue that he looked the best out of the club’s new summer signings.

Kai Havertz was much-talked about because he arrived from Chelsea, whilst Declan Rice was a club-record transfer from West Ham United.

But Timber was the one who stood out in pre-season and against Manchester City in the Community Shield, as Oleksandr Zinchenko sent the following message to the player via his Instagram story:

‘We are all with you, brother,’ wrote Zinchenko, who missed pre-season himself through injury.

This could prove to be damaging for Arsenal

Given that Timber could come into the midfield and make the ball talk, as well as play at centre-back, then he was set to elevate this Arsenal side to new levels.

The early signs suggested that, pound-for-pound, he was probably going to be Arsenal’s best and most important summer signing.

But now Mikel Arteta has some big calls to make in how he reacts to all of this and whether or not they dip into the transfer market.
