Lucas Paqueta reportedly wants to leave David Moyes’s West Ham United and join Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

According to The Guardian, Manchester City are interested in signing Lucas Paqueta from Premier League rivals West Ham United.

The report has claimed that City, who won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League last season, are preparing a new bid for the Brazil international attacking midfielder.

Paqueta “has been unsettled by City’s interest and wants to leave” the Hammers this summer, according to the report.

Lucas Paqueta could leave West Ham United for Manchester City

In our view, Manchester City are likely to be able to sign Lucas Paqueta from West Ham United in the summer transfer window.

City are one of the biggest clubs in the world and won the treble last season.

And they are wealthy.

A move from West Ham to City would be a step-up for Paqueta.

The £150,000-a-week (Spotrac) 25-year-old has his best years ahead of him, and the chance to move to City this summer would be too tempting for him to resist.

We fully understand why the Brazil international would want to move to City.

However, West Ham are likely to ask for a lot of money for Paqueta.

The Hammers signed the Brazilian from Lyon only in the summer of 2022.

According to Sky Sports, West Ham paid £51 million for Paqueta.

So, if the Hammers do cash in on Paqueta this summer, then they are very likely to ask a lot more than £51 million and make a healthy profit on him.

Paqueta made 27 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for West Ham last season.

The playmaker scored four goals and gave three assists in those games.
