Jamie O’Hara raved about Tottenham Hotspur defensive midfielder Yves Bissouma while watching him in action against Brentford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Yves Bissouma was in action for Tottenham Hotspur against Brentford away from home at the Gtech Community Stadium in the Premier League today.

Bissouma started the London derby for Spurs.

The 26-year-old defensive midfielder was one of the two sitting midfielders in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

The match finished in a 2-2 draw.

Praise for Yves Bissouma for Tottenham Hotspur vs Brentford

Former Tottenham player and talkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara was impressed by the display produced by Bissouma.

O’Hara has said on Twitter that the former Brighton and Hove Albion defensive midfielder was “absolutely outstanding” in the London derby, adding that he is like a new signing.

Bissouma joined Spurs from Brighton in the summer of 2022.

Much was expected of the 26-year-old when he arrived at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but the Mali international could not make a massive impact at the North London club.

There were injury problems, and when fit, Bissouma did not always start for Tottenham.

Bissouma made 10 starts and 13 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham last season.

Against Brentford today, Bissouma took three shots but none was on target, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 92%, took 136 touches, attempted seven dribbles, and made three tackles, two interceptions and two clearances.

We know from his time at Brighton just how good Bissouma is as a player.

Playing regularly for Tottenham will only help the 26-year-old get back to that level.

Tottenham are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
