Pep Guardiola has stated that ‘everybody knows’ the qualities of Harry Kane after he was told that Tottenham and Bayern Munich have agreed a deal for the England striker.
The Manchester City boss stated ‘I don’t know if Daniel Levy has allowed him to leave or if he stays’, as he told Sky Sports News (10/08/23 at 12:35 pm).
A number of years ago, Manchester City went knocking for Harry Kane’s signature, but they kept getting knocked back by the man in Tottenham’s boardroom.
That’s probably when the likes of Pep Guardiola learnt what the Spurs chairman is like because, even though one of the best teams in the world was knocking, he wasn’t having any of it.
But with 12 months left on Kane’s contract, Bayern Munich have managed to get Levy to the table, and now, agreed on a deal for the 30-year-old, as reported by Sky Sports.
This is huge news in the footballing world, as Guardiola was told about it in his press conference today and he issued the following response.

“Is that official,” he responded when told about the Tottenham-Bayern agreement. “Everybody knows (his qualities). Just take a look at him and at how good he is.
“He has top attributes as a top striker. Right, left, header, dropping, the quality to play assist, score goals in the box and score goals arriving.
“He is an exceptional striker. He has shown in many, many years. Just Alan Shearer is ahead of him as the top Premier League goalscorer of all time.
“But I don’t know if, in the end, Daniel Levy allows him to leave or if he stays there. I don’t know.”

Guardiola and Kane link-up would have been epic
For one of the world’s greatest-ever coaches to work with one of the best number 9’s in the world today, well, that would have been epic.
But that will now never happen, with Guardiola now having Erling Haaland at his disposal, who fired him to a historic Treble last season after he produced one of the best-ever debut campaigns seen from a player.
It is a shame because many would have backed Kane to produce similar results to Haaland, and as crazy as it sounds, possibly score more goals.
