Nottingham Forest are set to miss out on Emil Audero with the goalkeeper’s agent confirming that his Premier League linked client could join Serie A giants Inter Milan on Thursday.
Steve Cooper’s side completed the signing of Matt Turner from Arsenal just yesterday. But, as things stand, the job is only halfway done. Nottingham Forest want two goalkeepers before September’s deadline and, while Dean Henderson could still arrive from Manchester United, the delay is leaving a few at the City Ground feeling a little nervous.
What’s more, the importance of reaching a deal with Erik ten Hag’s side is only increasing; one of Forest’s top alternatives set for the San Siro.

Emil Audero rebuffed Nottingham Forest’s advances in January, staying at Sampdoria in a failed attempt to save the crisis-hit Ligurian outfit from the drop. According to Corriere dello Sport, Forest held no grudges, renewing their interest in the 26-year-old, Indonesia-born shot-stopper.
Audero is, however, set to continue his career in Italy. His agent confirming that a move to Inter Milan could be completed imminently.
Nottingham Forest miss out on Emil Audero
“Tomorrow, there will be signatures. Let’s wait,” Tullio Tinti told Sky Italia on Wednesday evening.
“Audero has shown in recent years that he is a goalkeeper of (the top) level. He left Juventus very young and, after an incredible year at Venezia, he was always the starter at Sampdoria”.
“He’s balanced and intelligent. He knows his role. But he’s also ambitious and he knows that he can carve out his own space in an important team like Inter. The deal will close on the basis of a loan with an option-to-buy which can become obligation under certain conditions.”

Audero, according to Tuttomercatoweb, could eventually set Inter back around £5.5 million. He will be tasked with helping to fill a void created by the departures of Andre Onana and Samir Handanovic, with Yann Sommer also arriving from Bayern Munich.
Forest, meanwhile, appear increasingly unlikely to agree a deal for Henderson before Saturday’s Premier League opener at Arsenal. Steve Cooper’s side also failed with a bid for New England Revolution glovesman Djordje Petrovic.
