Bayern Munich are refusing to accept defeat over Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane with Jamal Musiala hoping to see a ‘world-class’ Premier League superstar arrive at the Bundesliga champions.
That Bayern Munich secured their tenth successive domestic title last season even without a truly elite number nine – despite Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting’s best efforts – was more down to Borussia Dortmund’s own failings than it was the quality of Thomas Tuchel’s existing frontline.
To put it simply, had Dortmund not collapsed like a house of cards on the final day, the Meisterschale would be pride and place of the Signal Iduna Park trophy cabinet heading into 2023/24.

Bayern got lucky last season. And they are determined to ensure that ‘fortune’ plays no role in next season; Harry Kane’s potential arrival arguably the difference between another tight-fought title race and a return to the days of a one-horse field.
Bayern Munich make another Harry Kane bid
“(Kane is) a world-class player,” Musiala, who’s very own ‘Aguero moment’ saw Bayern snatch glory from under Dortmund’s nose in May, tells Kicker.
“(Kane would) help our team.”
Bayern have been on the lookout for a prolific centre-forward ever since Robert Lewandowski left for Barcelona in 2022, and are prioritising the seemingly-wantaway Kane after being priced out of the market for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and missing out on Rasmus Hojlund to Manchester United.
Tottenham’s all-time record goalscorer will become a free-agent in 2024. What’s more, he appears to have little interest in signing a contract extension.

But do not make the mistake in assuming this means Spurs would be willing to cash in; The Athletic reporting that Daniel Levy rejected a third offer from Bayern after holding talks with the Bundesliga club’s bosses in London last week.
Should Bayern finally succeed in twisting Levy’s arm, Tottenham could step up their interest in Montpellier talisman Elye Wahi.
“There are offers. We expect more,” Montpellier president Laurent Nicollin tells RMC Sport. “We’ve had an offer from Chelsea. We thanked them, but we refused. We wait.
“I had Tottenham, who are keen, and they should move soon. There is also Frankfurt. This is a game of musical chairs; if Kane leaves Tottenham and/or (Randal) Kolo Muani from Frankfurt, automatically, things will change.”
