West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca has now made his decision on a transfer to Atalanta after the Sere A side matched Inter Milan’s bid for the Italy international.
That is according to Sky Italia, which reports that Scamacca will now fly to Italy this Saturday for a medical at Atalanta. The 24-year-old has accepted La Dea’s offer of a return to Serie A after taking a few hours to study the move on Friday. Terms are also in place with West Ham.
Inter Milan already had a bid on the table for Scamacca’s transfer but West Ham favours the terms of Atalanta’s similar offer. Both clubs have presented bids worth €30m (£26m) in total for the attacker. But the Irons prefer the conditions set in the add-ons for La Dea’s proposal.

Scamacca pulls a U-turn on Inter Milan to sign for Atalanta
Atalanta will pay West Ham an initial €25m (£21.5m) for Scamacca, with the remaining €5m (£4.5m) spread over his contract. The Hammers believe the add-ons are easier to achieve to the terms of Inter Milan’s proposal. While Scamacca will also earn more at Gewiss Stadium.
The Bergamo club have offered the 11-cap forward a €3.2m-a-year (£53k-a/w) contract, per Gianluca Di Marzio. It has proven enough to tempt Scamacca into a U-turn as the West Ham striker had already given Inter Milan his word that he was ready to agree a transfer to them.
West Ham take a hit after just a year on Scamacca’s transfer

A return to Serie A after only a season in the Premier League sees the Irons take a loss, too. West Ham paid Sassuolo an initial £30.5m to get Scamacca in July 2022. The Hammers also agreed to include £5m in add-ons. While the Neroverdi also even have a 10% sell-on clause.
In return for their investment, West Ham signed a striker in Scamacca who Declan Rice said is ‘really, really special’. But Scamacca is now set to agree a transfer to Atalanta after scoring three goals in 16 Premier League games. He has eight goals in 27 games in all competitions.
