Tottenham Hotspur are ready to axe defender Joe Rodon with the Welshman told to find a new club this summer.
Joe Rodon appears to have no future at Tottenham Hotspur having been told to find a new club.
That is according to a report from the London Evening Standard, who claim that Rodon can leave Spurs.
It’s suggested that Rodon – as well as fellow defender Davinson Sanchez – are among a number of players who have been told they can leave.
Rodon joined Tottenham from Swansea City in a deal worth around £11million back in October 2020.
The Welshman had impressed in the Championship and earned himself a move to North London.
First-team action has been hard to come by though with Rodon managing just 15 Premier League appearances.
Rodon spent last season out on loan with French side Rennes, turning out 16 times in Ligue 1.
Rennes haven’t pursued a permanent deal for Rodon and Ange Postecoglou seemingly doesn’t have plans for him at Tottenham.

Joe Rodon needs to leave Tottenham Hotspur
Rodon has played well at times for Tottenham and his attitude has always been exemplary.
The Athletic reported last summer that Antonio Conte was a fan of Rodon’s attitude and application even if he wasn’t giving him playing time.
That sparked the loan to Rennes, which hasn’t really helped Rodon get his career back on track.

We can imagine that a number of Premier League clubs will be interested in Rodon; that Athletic report highlighted interest from both Everton and Fulham.
Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper is also a big fan of Rodon having coached him at Swansea.
Rodon has continued to play well for Wales and has been hailed as a ‘wonderful talent’ by Rob Page.
It just isn’t going to work out for Rodon at Tottenham after being anonymous in pre-season and he simply must move on in order to settle down elsewhere and show his quality again.
