Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal could be about to make a bid for Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.

According to 90min, Arsenal are interested in signing David Raya from London and Premier League rivals Brentford in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that Brentford are looking for £40 million in transfer fees for Raya.

Arsenal are now reportedly “preparing an offer to present” to present to Brentford.

90min has added that the bid from Arsenal for Raya will be “close to their £40m valuation, though this would be made up with a significant sum of add-ons”.

Raya himself wants to join Arsenal and “is pushing for Brentford to allow him to move to the Emirates Stadium”.

Arsenal could be able to sign Brentford goalkeeper David Raya

In our opinion, Arsenal could be able to sign David Raya from Brentford in the summer transfer window.

Raya seems to be keen on a transfer to Arsenal even though Aaron Ramsdale is the number one goalkeeper at the North London club.

The goalkeeper is out of contract at Brentford at the end of next season.

It is unlikely that Raya will sign a new contract with the Bees.

If Arsenal are willing to pay £40 million including add-ons for Raya, then it is hard to see Brentford turn it down.

Now, of course, Brentford are not going to accept Arsenal’s first offer for the Spain international, if it is less than the £40 million upfront that they are looking for.

However, the Bees could be willing to sell Raya in the end if the Gunners raise it.

After all, it would make no sense for Brentford to keep a player against his will and then just let him leave on a free transfer next summer.

Raya has made 62 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The goalkeeper has kept 20 clean sheets in those matches.
