Karim Benzema has expressed his delight on his Instagram story after Fabinho secured a transfer from Liverpool to Saudi Arabia side, Al-Ittihad.
The Real Madrid legend, who was one of the first big names to secure a transfer to the Middle East this summer, will now be joined by one of Liverpool’s greatest in recent times.
At the age of 29, Fabinho still has a lot to give in the game, especially on a stage such as the Premier League.
But Liverpool just couldn’t turn down the £40 million (Mail) that was put on the table by Saudi Arabia Pro League side, Al-Ittihad, where he has signed a three-year deal.
On Merseyside, the Brazil International was earning £180k-a-week (Spotrac) and you would imagine that has, at least, doubled at his new club.
Well, Fabinho is linking up with a number of star-studded names, including Karim Benzema, who wrote on his Instagram story ‘let’s go’ when the news was announced, as well as former Chelsea and Leicester City Premier League title-winner, N’Golo Kante.

Now to spend the Fabinho and Jordan Henderson money…
In previous years, Liverpool haven’t exactly sold well, but this summer, a number of big names have either been sold or taken off their wage bill.
But with the departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, you would imagine that, on top of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, another big-name midfielder will arrive this summer.
It was suggested that the Reds would push for Moises Caicedo, if Henderson and Fabinho were sold, well, that has now happened, so things could get interesting on that front during these coming weeks.
