Arsenal are now moving for a new midfielder with Eintracht Frankfurt star Djibril Sow wanted despite Lazio’s strong interest.
Lazio are keen to sign Djibril Sow but there is now an apparent threat of Arsenal hijacking their move.
That is according to Calciomercato over in Italy, who claim that Arsenal are ‘aggressively’ trying to sign Sow.
It’s stated that Lazio had all but secured a deal for Sow a few days ago, agreeing to pay €15million (£13million) plus add-ons.
Sow had given his approval to the move but Lazio’s deal is now stalling because of a couple of factors.
One is that Sow is now having doubts about his role at Lazio and whether boss Maurizio Sarri actually wants him.
The other is that other clubs have allegedly joined the race with Sevilla and Arsenal believed to be pushing.
Lazio have established new contact to try and push the deal forward but there seems to be a real fear that Arsenal are swooping in.

Who is Arsenal target Djibril Sow?
Sow emerged in the ranks of hometown club FC Zurich, but never actually appeared for their first team.
After just 20 league outings for Zurich’s second team, Sow earned himself a move to Germany with Borussia Monchengladbach.
The move didn’t really work out as Sow struggled to break through, so he headed back to Switzerland with Young Boys in 2017.
Sow excelled and moved back to Germany again, this time signing for Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019.

That’s where Sow has really kicked on, becoming a mainstay of the team with more than 150 appearances to his name.
The 26-year-old has mostly played as a holding or box-to-box player, offering exceptional work rate in the middle of the park.
Sow also had huge love for a former Arsenal midfielder in Granit Xhaka, telling Sport1 that he saw Xhaka a ‘role model’ and a ‘leader’ to him.
Xhaka left Arsenal this summer but Sow could end up coming in if reports in Italy are to be believed.
A midfield signing for Arsenal would be a surprise though given that Thomas Partey currently looks set to stay put.
Maybe Arsenal think that the deal for Sow is so cheap that they need to make their move, but this could just as easily be a tactic to try and make Lazio push to finalise the move.
