Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino likes Conor Gallagher, but the Blues could still sell him, according to a report.
The Athletic journalist David Ornstein has said on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel that he has been told that Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino likes Conor Gallagher.
Ornstein, though, has added that Chelsea could still sell the England international midfielder if they got a good offer.
The London Evening Standard reported last week that Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United want to sign Gallagher from London and Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
The report claimed that the Hammers had a bid of £40 million for the 23-year-old turned down.
Chelsea are willing to sell Gallagher, but the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are looking for £50 million in transfer fees, according to the report.
Mauricio Pochettino reportedly likes Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher
Ornstein said, as transcribed by TBR: “Mauricio Pochettino suggested he’s part of his plans, and people have said to me that he quite likes him.

“He’s got a bit of an Argentine style about him with the way he presses as an all-action midfielder. It’s one that Chelsea might sell if the right offer comes to them.
“He’s been playing a lot in pre-season, but every player has their price, so it wouldn’t shock me to see him go, but equally, it’s not out of the question that he stays.”
Chelsea should keep Conor Gallagher
In our opinion, Chelsea should not rush to sell Conor Gallagher in the summer transfer window.
If Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino likes the 23-year-old and thinks that he would help his team next season, then the London club’s bosses should seriously consider keeping him.
True, every player has their price, but if no club is willing to pay £50 million for Gallagher, then Chelsea should not actively look to offload him.
